My dealer still can’t hire/keep enough mechanics to handle demand.

Guessing another year before my transmission transplant.

No updates…I’m going to call Kelly’s in Hamilton tomorrow - its a 3 day ride away, but I’m hoping I can get it done either before or after CFR..

I’ll be going to CFR in Huntsville July 9-11, then delivering my bike to Kelly’s in Hamilton on July 12th..Kelly’s has said they need the bike for 3 days, so hopefully ride back to Winnipeg (2162km/1343miles) starting on the 15th or 16th..

I’m looking forward to receiving a phone call from my local dipshit dealer..and telling them that I’m glad they finally have the parts in, but the bike is already done.

Kelly’s did the recall(s) and a new set of plugs, checked the valve clearances and replaced the relay arm with a snowflake modified unit…in the quoted time.

I rode back to Winnipeg..3 x 750km (466 miles) days, with no problems, other than riding through the tail of the tornado that hit Barrie, Ontario - a deluge of rain that made everyone else pull over. I just slowed down.

FWIW, I’m here in South Georgia, purchased my 2019 FJR from a dealership in NC. After getting the recall notice I contacted my local dealer here who after running my vin number immediately ordered the transmission kit and the front brake switch. That was in late January of this year. Transmission kit arrived in mid March, girl working the service desk called and asked if I was ready to bring it in, I asked when the switch kit would be in and she informed me that it would be mid July, I told her I would rather wait and have it all done at one time. No problem, I continued riding the bike as I would have anyway, even did a cross country trip on it in early June. Bike performed flawlessly. Early July she called, scheduled me a time to bring it in, dropped it off on a Saturday afternoon, she called Wednesday afternoon and told me the bike was ready for me to pick up. After picking it up did about 100 miles or so around town, some back roads, some highway ( high speed ) miles just to see how it ran after that much work. Bike is absolutely perfect. I’ve always been critical of dealers and their service departments but I have to say this time around they did an excellent job of both handling the situation and doing the work. I consider myself fortunate. 😎.

The dealer in Winnipeg who told me that they could do the transmission recall in March, then never called me..just called me to ask if I still needed it done. I told him that I had the recall done in June, in Hamilton - a 3 day, 22 hr ride away. He then asked me if he could perform the second recall.
I told him I’d get back to him.
Fucktard.

I thought this thread was about memory/cognitive issues.

Why don’t you guys stop buying inferior models! Just get the black/gray ones. Duh.
