Post Love ("Like Button) Update - 1/10/21

Post by DesignFlaw06 »

Sorry for the downtime today, but I was working on the PostLove extension, trying to return it to its former glory. The short answer is I got most of the way there. It should be close to the way it was before, with an exception of when you click on the heart. It will say "You loved this!" or "You unloved this!". The accurate count and display of names won't happen until you refresh the page.

The original author abandoned PostLove and was eventually picked up by someone else in a different location. That's why we never saw any updates. The new author has made some significant changes that seem to take more advantage of the latest forum software upgrades. The downside is that it doesn't play well with the code I wrote before. It's not happy with the SQL query for some reason. I'll keep looking at it until I can get it to update the usernames and counts when the heart is clicked. I just need to get smarter.

But I think I'm close with everything else. If you notice errors or have issues, let me know.

Once you get it working, how about a "That's Nice But Not Nice Enough To Love" button?

Since we are asking, how about a FYB icon or emoji? You already have the finger ( :finger: ). All we need is a small icon with Bob's face on it. Something like this:
