Sourced some punked out 2006 sidecases. Installed a Natehawk Labs power head to run my wireless charging mount and radar detector experiment simultaneously.
Deer damage and TOH happening within 30 days of one another certainly results in me doing a lot of fiddling with the bike.

Rode it 6 hours round trip to pick up abovementioned side cases. Grabbed loctite and swapped the locks from my bags to the secondhand bags. Ordered new bag reflectives and techspec sidecase protectors.

I spent most of my money on guns, motorcycles, women, and whiskey. The rest I just wasted!

Regardless of what the weather forecast or calendar say, winter is over for me.
There is significant therapudic value for me in this - After a few weeks or longer of having bits and pieces of FJR spread out across the garage and they have all migrated back to their rightful place and the starter button spins the heart of this beast to life.
Fresh sneakers, fluids, and all the important bits have recieved the appropirate TLC. Let's ride...

A tire in a shop on the road (Sunday afternoon 4 1/2 hours from the garage) costs as much as 2 1/2 sets of tires bought and put on in my garage. Had to experience that lesson twice for it to burn in. Now, I start every season on fresh sneakers. I will have very limited opportunities for 2 wheel adventures this spring and summer due to family and work obligations - so when I have time to ride, it will be spent riding - not doing the math on how many miles are on this set of tires and how many miles from the garage I am...

You replaced a rear tire that was just broken in?

I just replaced a rear that easily had 1,000 miles left. Not proud.
But I’ve got 1,600 miles over the next 8 days, and won’t have time for a change. I scrimp where I can. But I’m not losing riding opportunities trying to manage tire life and trips.
