Rode to Flight 93 for a flag ceremony. They installed a new pole at the learning Center and hoisted our nation's proud flag on Flag Day!

Rode to work as well... fixing to get damp on the ride home. Which means I'll be taking the long, safer way home.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Fixed the wiring for my lower right LED light which is mounted near the axle. With the ES upside down forks I had attached the wires to the brake area with a zip tie and next secured the wires with a zip tie on the un-moving upper fork stanchion. Every time the wheel moved up and down the wire flexed. Ultimately the stranded wire work-hardened then broke inside the insulation so the break was not visible. Fixed the broken wire only to find out the other wire to the LED was broken too. It took ~2 years before the wires broke. If you have wires attached to your ES like this you may want to take a look at changing the tie points.
On my way back to the garage to adjust the handlebars now.

A suggestion: you can find this idea using any weight of wire that does the job, just zip-tie the straight parts of the wire to the non-moving and moving parts of the bike. You should have a slight extension of the wire coil with the forks compressed, and more coil extension available than needed, with the forks extended. You can (gently) bungee-cord the coiled wire in the middle, to the fork tube. This avoids having the wire flexing around, when riding. I have used this idea on bikes in the past. Never had any problem. HTH.

P.S. Life is too short, and health is too valuable, to ride on cheap parade-duty tires.
Yeah, I ride motorcycles. I know why dogs put their heads out of the car windows.
Yeah, I fly hang gliders (3000 hrs.+). I know why the birds sing.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Thanks for the suggestion. I think I got the wire attached in a way that won't concentrate flexing in any one spot and will let the whole wire gently move in the bridge across the moving area.Red wrote: ↑Sun Jun 16, 2019 12:56 pm ...A suggestion:...just zip-tie the straight parts of the wire to the non-moving and moving parts...You can (gently) bungee-cord the coiled wire in the middle, to the fork tube. Still flat on my back, alternating between ibuprofen and naproxen for pain. My wife came home this morning and suggested that I go for a ride to B.C when my back is better to make up for not being able to go to CFR2019...

Man, now that spring finally arrived, I'm loving riding to work every day! I'm saving about $50/week in gas alone. Rode again today. But I'm with ya, I need to get my ride on.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Haha, spring has arrived. I woke up to an Accuweather alert for Heat Advisory today. Do you know how bad it has to be in Texas for them to issue a heat advisory?
Actually not that bad, I think they were just warning us that our unseasonably cool June is over and it'll be 96F with higher humidity than normal (still not comparable to LA or FL though) so summer has almost arrived, triple digit temperatures are right around the corner.
