I often have found myself when I was not looking, nor did that discovery take place where I thought it would!

You would think by now that the bike could find its way to work on its own.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
It pretty much does but on really nice mornings it exhibits a kind of "handling quirk" where it just doesn't want to turn into the parking lot. I think it's the nut holding the handlebars......

Thought about it but the susstained winds and gusts crossing the river and a few spots on 83 convinced me to take the cage.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Great progress, buttoned up after the valve check, installed newly Ivan-flashed ECU (yes he can now do immobilizers), hooked up battery, fired it up. Kool. Ran two hot/cool cycles to purge air from cooling system, all good. Performed TB sync, it was pretty good but had to make #4 the reference, and adjust #1 which had been white painted. If I could have got it out of the shop, I'd have ridden, nice sunny day... but rest of the week is gonna be sprinkles......

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Ride home from work was gusty, not the worst I've ridden in though, just enough to make it entertaining without being scary. Ok, a little scary while leaned over hauling ass up the entrance ramp to the highway but elsewhere was doable.Spininprop wrote: ↑Mon Apr 15, 2019 1:20 pmThought about it but the susstained winds and gusts crossing the river and a few spots on 83 convinced me to take the cage.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I tested my ABS system.
A nice lady in a bright red Mazda Shitbox(tm) couldn't wait for the clear road behind me and had to pull out almost into my front wheel. I was going 45 mph in a 45 mph zone, she pulled out ~5 mph. Once she was mostly in my lane she realized she might have made a mistake and made up for it by slamming on her brakes and came to a stop in the road. Fortunately #1 I was already into full ABS breaking trying not to rear-end her and fortunately #2 I had already scouted out an emergency bail-out path just in case the driver did something even more stupid than already demonstrated. I only had a stage 1 adrenaline attack during the emergency stop but had a full stage 5 anger attack. Sometimes I miss that the tires don't shriek and scream like when we used to be able to lock 'em up and I was too busy to hose her with the stock horn beep, beep.

Wish I had your roads to ride...but I'll have to settle for my commute to and from work, for now.

Well that sucks...good thing you were paying attention. I had something very similar happen to me yesterday on my way home from work...and the bitch on the phone had the nerve to flip me off...ionbeam wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2019 9:11 am I tested my ABS system.

I heard you can use an actuator. You don't actually have to ride your bike and slam on the brakes.ionbeam wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2019 9:11 am I tested my ABS system.

I guess your arms must be up to snuff. Glad that the shithead driving wasn't successful in testing your insurance coverage.
Damn.
