bungie4 wrote: Thu May 17, 2018 7:12 am I don't ride in town anymore because I just can't manage that many fucktards at once. They're calling for $2/l gas by summer. If thats the case, I'll have to work on my fucktard management skills. Until then I'll stay in my 4600lb Tacoma.
I thought that Canadian shale oil would get you guys a break, that's fookin 7-8$ a gallon!

My fucktard mgmnt skillz are zero...thus the cage for commuting, otherwise I'd be pulled over for reckless for all the speeding away from fucktards to keep my ass safe.

Oh, yeah, today I put 40psi in my front tire. Bike is packed and ready for Hungry Mother on Sat/Sun.
Pack your water wings and a PFD.
Just because it's going to rain each day does not mean it will be raining everywhere all day. If it rains for an hour or two during the weekend where we are at what's the big deal? If it rains 30% of the ride, what's the big deal? I have the other 70%. Now, we may get wet, but if I listened to weather channel to determine whether I rode or not, I'd never ride. BTW, that's why they put sipes in tires...so you CAN ride in inclement weather. Otherwise we'd all be on racing slicks.

Texas is heading into the "What is rain" season. Where it's hot enough that you actually hope you get rained on. :D Not there yet, but close.

Like Joe, I rode it to work today. But mine is a special ride to work because I haven't been on the FJR for over 4 months due to left ankle surgery. Damn, I miss the FJR for commuting! As a bonus, we even have nice warm weather with NO RAIN here in the Seattle metro area. :)

Is it that late these days? Used to be 3pm when I lived there.

Yea, we already have cracks in the dirt here.

Road it about 450 miles including some roads I have never been on before. My route included the Rowena Curves along the Scenic Columbia River Highway. The highway standards is a grade of no more than 5% and turn radii of 100 feet. The road loops to achieve the design standard. It is an awesome road tho a bit short. The upside is the speed limit is 55 mph and more then enough to keep the speed tax collectors away!

Fontanaman, that would be a good addition to the "Two picture ride report" thread. Good stuff.

Thanks. The photo was shot late afternoon so nothing special going on here with the camera. I just used my point in shoot Canon S100 which is a a nice little camera but no DSLR.

There is a two picture ride report? Where? I didn't want to pollute the one picture ride report thread.

Typo. The photo was shot late afternoon. I was a bit tired too. The Columbia River Gorge wind machine was cooking real good yesterday. For 30 miles I laid low on my tank bag with the windscreen down low. Wind was 15-20 with gust as high as 30 so said yesterday's forecast.

Check out this barge on the river heading into the wind. Water was crashing the bow.

changed the front tire (Roadsmart3) at a local independent mechanic. The owner himself did the job this time, came to me and asked how come do I have a bike in such a mint technical condition after 80 000 km. Sure, its FJR, I said. The guy really is one of the most experienced mechanics here and said that usually most bikes that come to him are pretty worn out after 50 000 km. Said he had never seen any bike with such a milage more or less like new in tec.terms. That did my day :).

Rode it to work again. Currently the highlight of my working life actually. Day 425 consecutive riding day. Work has me swamped and overwhelmed, just taking a short break to keep my sanity by checking on the less than sane folks on here.

There isn't, but I wouldn't remove either photo as they are both important to your report. :D

There are some on here that have over 300,000 kms I believe.

Good for you! That made my day, too!

Work; verb; the exchange of one's time, knowledge, or physical labors for an agreed upon amount of financial return later realized by the worker to have been insufficient. The bane of my existence.

Unfortunately, the Rowena Crest Viewpoint seems to be just a smidge too far west for the CFR trip. Too bad, looks real nice!!
