Rode the new to me 2013 home today. Ordered a heated gear power cord from Warm & Safe. Started filling my Amazon cart. Found a used left side cover for it on eBay and bought it. Not sure what boots the PO wore but I never saw an FJR with paint worn completely through like this bike but only on the left side.

This week, I'll be bringing the FJR over to a friends house to use his M/C lift and grease the relay arm.

Does anyone know the exact size and length of the center stand bolts? I'd like to pick up a couple before we start.

TIA.

A) I have no idea how to post pics here and..
B) the bike won’t be delivered for a while, partially because I special ordered it…

If you can't figure out how to post pictures here, you'll never figure out the dash on the 1300  :stickpoke: :stickpoke: :stickpoke:

Yes, that was a joke :)

That was a joke, but it was hilarious, and partially true.

The Berlin Koolaid seduces another. I too have the affliction, but am keeping the FJR as well. Amazing how little used FJRs go for. It's too much fun to give away. Adding some Darla's and a Zumo XT mount to mine.

I got a new rear tire installed. Chasing yankees is rough on tires.

It’ll be 25F when I leave in the morning, so the heated seat pad went on, purely for psychological effects.

After 18 hours in cold or chilly weather last week, today I replaced the batteries in my heat troller, for good measure.

Are you using Dunlops with ice racing studs on them? BTW, tell your Yankee friend that he sucks!

This. With the miles and age of mine, it's not even worth dealing with the tire kickers. She's still ready to run whenever I drag her out of the garage.

Tucked my girls in for a little winter’s nap.

The FJR is over on the passenger side. 1 bike in the garage is easy. 2 bikes in my garage is doable, 3 bikes is annoying. I have a shed but it is not conditioned. I will have to take the battery out and drain the carb on the KLX.

I might ask a friend of if I can store one of them at his huge barn, but that kinda defeats the purpose of having all 3. The idea is to have them all ready to ride at a moments notice. I could take the KLX in the basement as I have done that before, but it’s kinda tough justifying the effort.

Ugh, first world problems for sure.

You could put that garage queen out in the driveway. Garages are for motorcycles. You bought a tough Toyota, quite treating it like a princess. ;)

Also then you'd have room for 3 more bikes.

Rode mine 275 miles today. Nice day in the back country.

Had ice cream.
Owner had posted it on another forum for 4k then. 3.5k and finally on Wednesday for 3k and I couldn't take it anymore. Bike is worth way more even as it sits. Need to make some room in the garage now.
Real good deal.

Dealer gave me way more than that on trade for my 2013 with 90k.

If I paid the money it takes to buy that Garage Queen, you bet your arse I'd store it in the Garage!

Congrats, Bob. The lure of the Barvarian Siren is strong. I get it.

Cav47,

Bringing a motorcycle into the house will usually VOID any and all homeowners insurance, even with the gas tank drained or removed.
Better ask your agent, before you bring it inside.
There may be health issues as well. Never know how much is too much with petroleum vapors, and they won't tell you.

P.S. Life is too short, and health is too valuable, to ride on cheap parade-duty tires.
Yeah, I ride motorcycles. I know why dogs put their heads out of the car windows.

Greased rear suspension. 17K miles. Relay arm and dog bone bearings were dry (as expected), but bearings all good.

Also greased the drive shaft splines (also dry).

Down to the wear bar indicator on both tires. Still got another day trip (dry weather) or two left in 'em. I've got a new set and a set of takeoffs ready.

Rode the 2014 to work, 23 degrees this morning so the heated gear was cranked. Forecast calls for in the low 50's when I get out so I want to wash the 2013 when I get home and get some decent pictures of it. Parts are starting to trickle in so I have stuff to do on it real soon. Power cable for the heated gear is likely first.

Coworker here rides almost every day like I do but he's on a Harley. Yesterday he called off as it left him sit 4 miles from home all because the battery in the key fob died and that ties into their security system. He had to walk home. This morning I offered him the use of the just purchased 2013 if he wanted a more reliable Japanese bike to ride for a while. I was told I'm an asshole. I thought I was just being generous.....
