RIP - JWilly - aka Jason - Memories and Tributes

Post by extrememarine »

Good evening.

I've typed and deleted this more times that I can count...

This afternoon - May 21st, 2022 - Jason - aka JWilly was involved in an accident near his home in Atlanta. He did not survive. Details are limited at this point. I ask we keep Sonya and Jason's family in your thoughts and prayers as they work through this difficult time. As details come together regarding services, I'll post here.

There is a group in southeast Ohio this weekend for the annual SEO Ramble. There are no words that will heal or comfort at this point. Jason was one of the very first "FJR" people I ever met and rode with. His heart was the size of a dump truck. Be there for each other, lean on each other.

I will remember Jason as the definition of what being a good human is; love everyone, live every second of this life as if it was your last because we just don't know what our expiration dates are.

Love you, Jason.

Thank you,

Wayne

I just wanted to say thank you for all of the love from everyone, I feel it and all of the family does as well here in Atlanta. xoxo - Sonya

Thank you.

Please join us on Saturday June 11th to celebrate the life of Jason Williams.

We look forward to this time of fellowship and being able to hear the stories and profound impact that Pops has had on all of us. Love you all and cannot wait to give each of you a hug that will pale in comparison to the ones Pops would give out to each of you if he saw you again. Love you all.

We have created this GofundMe to help support the final expenses for Jason. Any funds from this fundraiser will be used towards funeral and burial costs, anything leftover or in excess of those costs will go towards his 12 grandchildren. Thank you,

Photos sent to me, telling me that I fucked up by not being there. I also secretly want to think that Jason just missed me, and that's why he and the others send me the photos telling me I'm number 1...or showing what a good time they were having without me. haha.

Jason rode in the mountains with us (Mark and I) yesterday. He peeled off early to make a surprise appearance at a family event. That’s Jason. He never passed up an opportunity to look after someone, help someone, give a boost to a family member, friend, or complete stranger.

I got the call yesterday, while Mark and I were still waiting to hear that the last of our group had made it home safely, as was our custom. I let a few heavy hitters know. Raised a glass. Went to bed.

My phone was like a bomb this morning. Besides the fjr community and his lovely family, this guy impacted people from all over. Everybody says cool shit about people when they’re gone. But Jason was the better man. Someone who we all wish we were a little more like, when it comes to selflessness, spending time helping other folks, and generally being nice to other people.

He was nice, and he was a consummate rider, but he was also a gangster in the clutch. Going balls out to stop a domestic assault, protecting the victim until local police could arrive. On another occasion, shutting down a drunk driver until the police could render them safe. There are other examples.

My thoughts are with Sonya, his brother from another mother Dom, and the rest of Jason’s giant collection of friends and family.

Wow, very sad indeed. I never had the pleasure of meeting him but just like others on the forums you develop an affinity for people. I've never been big on attending the different meets and gatherings due job, family and health issues but you get to know people through their posting. I guess we're the high tech modern version of pen pals. I sometimes think of the FJR people as the best friends I've never met. There is so much trouble in the world today and so few good people it is especially sad to lose one. My thoughts, prayers and condolences to his family. :(

This. I have no pictures of him despite attending two rallies with him and talking to him extensively at both. I take a billion pictures but when I'm hanging out I get involved in the social aspect and the conversation and forget to take pictures. That actually might be a good thing and says lots about the folks I got to spend time with but it hurts in a situation like this when you scroll through your phone and there's nothing there.

This one hurts though, aside from the fact that he was always so caring and friendly and would pull me out to have a personal chat and ask how things were going, he also was larger than life on the bike. He was an incredible rider, passionate and invincible. Seeing that last word shattered really is worrisome and is a terrible reminder to us all. I had difficulty finding sleep last night and was restless all night long as all of these things kept going over and over in my head.

Today, because I know he'd want all of us to do it, I'll be pulling a bike out of the garage and going for a ride for that big tall goofy guy.

Marie and I got the call last night, and we’re devastated to hear this news. This is a gut punch.

After meeting Jason some years ago, I’ve felt like we had a instant bond with one another, always happy to see each other, like long lost friends. At first, I thought it was because we just hit it off, and that I was somehow special to him. However, I realized that this is how Jason makes everyone feel, once he meets them. That, my friends, is a special and rare characteristic trait, that Jason embodies. He made you feel special.

To Sonya, Marie and I cannot express in words, the sorrow we feel for you and you’re accepting of this tragedy. Our hearts break for you and Jason’s family. We love you, and if you ever need us, for anything, call us, or get ahold of Marie on Facebook.

Attending the FJR meets makes it harder to read the screen at times like this. Most of the time I think it's worth it. Right now, I am struggling.

Every single FJR personality that I liked from their posts turned out to be 10 times better in person. Except Jason. He was 50 times better in person. Jason was one of the wittiest and smartest folks I ever met. During a rained out SFO he and Julie rode in my truck with Pop and I to tour the Barber Museum. I laughed the entire day, he was so quick and so funny. Jason and I stood on the bridge over the track in the rain and watched some amateur road racers pass under us. As they went by on that rain soaked track we looked at each other in awe and amazement. I will never forget that moment where he and I were both at a loss for words.

I just ran out of words again.

I had no idea until I started seeing posts about Jason on Facebook this morning. Good grief! This is not supposed to happen. Like many of you, I've put in some mile with Jason, nearly always behind him. Great rider and a better guy. His deeds are a long legacy of good, selfless giving to others. I'm at a loss other than that.

Jason was one heck of a guy and will leave a big hole; he'll never be forgotten. It's hard to believe that he's gone.

Last year; he joined Bob and I on a day ride while at NAFO Glenwood Springs...

You and Jason are both instrumental in getting a motorcycle to me in 2019 when I was hurtin'. You drove hundreds of miles on your day off to do something for a guy you never met.

Jason met me, and yet he still got on a plane in Atlanta to Oklahoma City to ride back a bike back to me...most of it in a storm system.

I think the theme with Jason is that he made you feel like you were his best friend. Then you realized that that's just Jason, being himself.

This is going to crush me for a long time.
