On the 2013, nstalled LED rear turn signal bulbs, load resistors and the Admore Lighting plug-n-play harness. Easy peasy, no tapping, no splicing. Part details and quick vid here -> https://www.fjrowners.com/threads/new-t ... st-1309244

Not really but I was in a twist about something. Clearly nothing important because I can't remember what it was now.
FastPappy wrote: Mon Jul 19, 2021 3:22 pm Put on the new to me Corbin Smuggler I just got delivered today. A little disappointed that the paint didn't match as expected. It came off another 09AE but I guess that guy also bought it used so it was not the right paint code but close. My thought was go with the smuggler and remove the bags and trunk to lighten things up. Between what I took off and all the excess stuff I carried unnecessarily and what I put back in the smuggler the net weight loss was about 65 pounds. I can't wait to try it out. :D
Check it for weather resistance. As-is from the factory, reports were that it was absolutely not.

Seller claimed it was waterproof but I was already thinking to check and adjust it,snug everything up. Having a key made since he didn't send one, says he will look and send it if he finds it. Claims he never locked it. :(

Smugglers are frequently NOT entirely waterproof!! Test it before you store moisture-sensitive stuff in there.
You may be able to adjust latch or hinge if it leaks. Alternatively, a fair number of people end out replacing or augmenting the gasket.
For a high-priced accessory, there are sometimes some issues...

My smuggler is not water proof, but to be fair I haven't really tried to adjust the hinges.

Did a little test ride to check out my newly lightened feej. So I'm thinking nothing drastic just feels as though it should have always been this way. Maybe the designers didn't consider the bags, trunk and larger gas tank when they designed the suspension. :? Checked the hinge on the smuggler and didn't seem to be any way to adjust it so I just snuged up the nuts a bit. I'll see if I can adjust the latch next. It does give the bike a different look though. Still feeling it out. :)

Yesterday I got on Halle for the first time since getting back from the western trip with family. It was also the first time on any bike since falling off the KLX while out in The Black Hills. Anywho, I always forget how smoothly quick these bikes are. The KLX emits lots of noise and really doesn’t go anywhere. This machine whispers hitting 60 by the end of the street if not careful.

I took it down to the car wash in preparation of NOT A DAMN THING. My sorry self is neck deep in self inflicted duties regarding summer school, driver eduction, and other BS. Someone remind me again why I volunteered to take on those responsibilities? And before anyone says for the money, my wife won’t let me spend any of it.

Second paragraph belongs in the Complaint Thread.

When I ride I always am looking for ways to photograph/document it. For me it makes it more than just a ride as you never know what your going to get. I always have my Gopro running continuously on every ride and if I see something good in the clips I make photographs out of them or even small videos if worthy. Mostly I just delete the files and have the card ready for the next ride. Its a safety thing too, having it always running in case the worst happened, to have a video of it, or if I see a meteor fall to earth then making millions off my viral video :D

Recently I bought something that steps this up a lot for me. I purchased a DJI Mini 2 drone that fits in the palm of your hand, packs very small and light, and takes incredible 4K photos and videos. Fits easily in the side bag and I will be bringing it with me every time out. Man this thing is the shit. You can barely hear it as well. I like others find it annoying to hear the buzz etc. of these big drones. Not this one, its quiet and as high tech as you can get for not that much money. No way am I going to piss people off so I will go to remote places to get what I want and there are plenty of spots in Upstate SC, WNC, or other states on trips with friends.

Most riders do not even do what I do with cams and they probably do not get this but it just makes each ride more adventurous for me. Yesterday was a good example. I went out for a usual ride up Rt276 in SC stopping at Bald Rock and then looped over to lake Keowee just to try it out and get some video and photo and thought I would share a few for anyone interested. Funny, this Sportster guy was out running 276 with me and he let me pass with a wave. Cool pic I thought. After I got around him he tried to keep up with me. We all know how that went :D So what I did to my FJR was add a whole lot of fun and adventure to each ride.

I am not a golfer but I am going to guess it's pretty difficult to get on that green. Not much room for error.

On the '13- speedbleeders fore and aft, cycled ABS manually, replaced brake fluid, cycled ABS again, replaced brake fluid again. Don't worry, I got the speedbleeder for the clutch too. Maybe tomorrow....

How bad did the fluid look? Was this the first time you had a chance to change the new to you 13?

I had been coming down to WNC for over 25 years on bike trips from VA and knew this was the area I wanted to live and retire in. I started looking at Greenville in 2008 but things never fell into place until 2015. Just love it here for many reasons motorcycling being at the top of the list.

Fluid in both reservoirs looked clean as new but since it's new-to-me I wanted to be sure. I've got a whole list of things to do, basically a meld of years worth of winter maintenance lists. It's been very well maintained, it's easy to tell that but no written maintenance records came with it so what the heck. A little extra care "to be sure" causes no harm eh. I'm starting with the "normal" stuff- plugs, fluids, coolant, lubes, etc. and this winter will check the valves. It's at 40K miles now and I have no idea if they've ever been checked.
