Supposed to top out in the mid to upper sixties today through Thursday, and be quite wet. Vive le aerostich. Saturday, Jwilly told me that aerostich makes anyone look like a degenerate wizard, and that if I slimmed down, I might be able to try rev’it. (I may be paraphrasing, slightly).

I’ll put the stich up against anything for comfort, utility and dryness. They make spacesuits for motorcycles. It could use a couple of patches to break up the solid fabric. Perhaps I’ll send it in this spring for a general service and some bling.

Florida might not be motorcycle mecca. But it's nice in the winter.
Rode yesterday and today.

Not sure what those birds are it was far away.

Maybe swans down for the winter?

They were big!
Found out these are White Pelicans. They migrate to Florida for the winter. They are way bigger than a regular Pelican. They seem to feed in shallows but far away from people. It's hard to get a good look at them.

Rode for awhile both Saturday and Sunday.

Funny it was in the 50s most of the ride both days. Saturday it was cloudy, Sunday it was sunny. Even thought it was probably 5 degrees cooler on Sunday it felt warmer riding because of the sun.

I love just throwing that Olympia rain jacket over the gear. Keeps me nice and warm without all the fuss of a zip in liner.

So, sounds like we might have had Florida weather up here on the north coast, yesterday and today, with temps in the mid 50s and sunny. Not bad for February.

Worse than an AE FJR?
Haven't done an AE but the first wing I did took about 4 hrs. If things go well,I can do it now in 2 hrs.

[Rode up to Suches, Wolfpen Gap, and on up to Bell Mountain. Amazing 75 degree day in North Georgia. The retirees, plus my Son-in-law, got out and scrubbed some rubber off the tires!

Use the "share" function of the photo stored. Looks like a wrench icon, I think. Copy the jpg file and paste it here, using the image function. Look on Smugmugs site or Google to learn the few steps to share from smugmug.

You are almost there! Learn those couple things and you'll be sharing like a pro.

Something goofy with your share button in the way you have it configured on smugmug, still, you can open the image and then get the image link with a right click on the image.

Checked spiders 1,2,3 and 6 and they are all good, very good in fact. I was expecting to see something even if it was just some age related discolouration, but they were perfect other than a little dirt on the outside of the connectors. Spider 4 was fixed on the recall so I'm hopeful I can now cross off future spider concerns from my list of age related mechanical concerns. Bike is 12 years old this month and still spins like a top!

You can never cross them off the list.
Although S4 is the most vulnerable, there have been enough reports on other locations that you can not assume there will be no further issues.
Three have also been reports of a non-"spider" grounding problem.

Changed the air filter. Dirtier than either of the ones I pulled out of the last bike, but not too bad.

Put the baffles in the yoshimuras. Over the last
20,000 miles they’ve become noticeably louder. Still sound superb but They boom a bit at idle now. More harmonic than dB level, I think.

Evidently time to repack. Not looking forward to it.

That's why I got rid of the Leo Vince cans on my last FJR. They were starting to get a bit noisy so I went back to the OEM. I currently have Staintunes on my 2011. Like the OEM, they are all stainless. Sound is OK and I like the look. I use the dB killers in them. Quieter is better IMHO.

After I got my bike back home...after my little incident, I took the baffles out of the yoshimura cans, and started the bike...in the garage, my wife immediately came out into the garage, and was like WTF...I told her I wanted to hear the bike without the baffles, and she quickly replied..."Okay now put them back in... they've been in since.

I don't think I'd ride the bike with the baffles out...with them in the sound is perfect.
