John,
You live in western SD.

Somebody didn't do their research.

My condolences on your lack of satisfaction with your choices.

Temps near 40 here this week - 45 tomorrow. Maybe you should move north. Headed to the woods to drop some widowmakers tomorrow...

Snowing here now. Expecting 6"-12" tonight. 50's next week, typical Spring like weather.

The polar vortex brings the cold down from where? Canada, duh!
Why do Canadians move SOUTH for vacation for warmth? To get out of their own frigid country of course.

Just because the jetstream moves west to east has nothing to do with the cold.

I thought you were ALL about the science.

It was in the 60s before dawn today. Quite a difference from 0º when I was feeding the generator in the middle of the night during the outage.

I was quick enough through the snow and brush, so Annette will once again NOT be collecting on my life insurance policy. It was tad sketchy, but grandpa's old Homelite XL12 ripped through with the Kubota tugging to make sure i didnt get crushed. Good day in the woods with my brother's.

Atta boy! Not sure why Ms. Annette keeps you around but she must like ya at least a little.

Are those the trees that made mince meat of your deer stand?

Reporting in here from soppy Duckville. About noon today i started shifting furniture around and putting down plastic. Overheard in the background,
Does that have to be set up in the middle of my living room?
I have no where else dear and besides it off to the side under this double window.
I went down to the garage, gathered up my grow gear and containers of dirt, put all in a tote and back to the house. Opened the back door, stuck my head in and said,
I've figured out where else i can put it.
And Ms. Snarky replied
And where's s that?
I can hang a piece of plywood from the ceiling over your side of the bed and set my seed pots and light on that.

Apparently that was NOT the right answer! :D

My tub gardening was suspended until she goes to work tomorrow.
