Yup, just got mine today.

The issues i had with the cruise were caused by my bike being hissy after being paraded around the country on a trailer. Well, that and a pretty routed wire.

No Stock for part but I have no intention on taking it to the dealer before spring anyhow. I did speak to the dealer about taking mine off and giving it to them for the updated switch but they said they had to do the work. I said no problem i'll supervise the work when it is being done in the spring.

Just got a phone call this morning, from the dealer I bought the bike from. Wanted me to let them know when I'd be by as the parts are in-stock with Yamaha, but have to be ordered. 2015 ES

This still seems to be a bit of a mystery on what exactly they are replacing. In the other sandbox, one member was told it was a 2 hour job and the front wheel had to come off. But everything I read points to the switch itself which should be a quick swap. I sent an email over to the UK FJR club to see if they have some more insight on this. My 2015 has parts coming in for the brake light switch but I have not been overwhelmed by the service at this dealer (not a lot of options) which is why I have been doing the service myself to date.

Have looked at the Korean procedure.... FYI, the parts diagram does not show the switch has an attached harness which is connected up in the nose of the FJR.... so windshield and nose trim has to come off to access the connector, dash panel off to be able to snake the harness up into the nose, undo the wire retainer on the underside of the right handlebar...... 0.9 hrs. labour.
No front wheel removal required, nothing being done down there.

Sigh...yeah. I'll have a chat with the service manager. The last time my bike was there they used a power drill to install the allen bolts to the dash and almost scratched the plastic on the gauges but cracked the dash plastic (I replaced it when I did the valve check). It's been a long time since I've been there so maybe that tech isn't working there anymore. I have also found missing parts such as the plastic clip that goes over the fuel connector but I don't know for certain if that was the dealer or the factory. Again, I fixed that myself. Not crazy that they are now going to remove the windscreen...

I replaced mine in 2017. I paid for part and did it my self. Cruise wouldn’t engage and brake light on all the time. Took longer to remove panels than to replace the switch and harness, all one part.

Recall notice came about a month ago.

Bigrock, I would guess it's a new part number from the one you replaced. If it's the same part number you are good. Well except for the time and money spent.

I was one of the first FJRiders to have a TPS failure and report it to a dealer. I had a long discussion with a Yamaha dealer and explained what I found and linked him to the other sandbox where I had posted a troubleshooting guide for the TPS and an autopsied TPS that showed the failure mode. On October 16, 2006 Yamaha issued Recall No. 06V371000 for the TPS. Later, when I was at the dealer for another issue I mentioned that is sucked that I paid for a new TPS and did the work my self, and then a recall was issued. The dealer told me that if I still had the part I just needed to give it to him and he would refund the cost. I told the dealer it was in pieces due to doing an autopsy. He said it didn't matter, just bring him the parts. I did, and he paid me. Done, simple as that. This dealer was extremely helpful on several issues. So of course he had to close.

BigRock, if you still have the part try talking with a dealer, you may get a refund. The brake switch is really expensive for just a switch, a little wire and a connector.

f@$k it with my bike. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. 7 years, 145k miles - no problem. I wouldn't trust the morons here in Greenville to do it right anyhow.

I’ve had CC drop and not re-engage during the past month. Turned CC off and on, no luck. Turned ignition off (at 60 mph), no luck. Applied front brake, CC function resumed. Happened another time several years ago and was totally dumbfounded then it started working again. Used similar “diagnosis” then before the recall.

Have learned my dealer ordered kit under my VIN then installed on a squeaky wheel. I’ll be talking to the North American Yamaha distributor Monday.

Guess it is good news https://www.yamaha-dealers.com/public/w ... tions.html doesn’t list my recall as being completed.
