Very cool! Even more cool is the fact your daughter wanted to go along. FWIW her not admitting you were right about getting cold is not unique to your daughter, that's just a typical teenager. Good point about the extra legible speedo. Be very careful when you take her along in the future. The money you may have planned for bike parts could end up being her fancy new phone if she see too much....."Does mom know you drive that fast?" Sounds expensive to me.

I disagree. Not a "teenager" thing as much as it is a FEMALE thing. This really needs no further explanation.

I will agree about the speedometer. I was never a fan of digital speedometers but after squinting at the tiny numbers on Dad's Gen2, the Gen3 dash is wonderful.

Very cool that she enjoys riding with you, but the "Can't admit I was wrong," thing is definitely a non-gender teenage characteristic.

When my two sons became teenagers, I became the dumbest man on the planet. Now? they're 35 or so, and their wives help them realize I'm not as clueless as they once believed.

As hppants said, "like a fart in the wind" and they're adults.

Nice call Andrew---NOT. Wait til Ms. Tyler sees what you wrote. Guess who just got UNinvited to YFO. Can your dad still go?

I love kids that love motorcycles and respect them. Makes for good adults later on. Keep having fun Josh. You won't regret it later!

On the subject of the speedo, I didn't think this through when I bought my MINI Cooper S. Yea, the car with the GIANT speedo in the center of the dash. I liked it, thought it was nostalgic and such, until my wife went "LOOK AT HOW FAST YOU ARE GOING!!!" pointing at the giant speedo right in her face. Something to be said about drivers side analog dash boards with tiny print.

My youngest daughter in the back seat is my mathematician. Especially if the GPS is up showing the speed limit and my current speed. It's a barrage of, "Daddy, you're going 80, and the speed limit is 65. Shame on you daddy. Mom, look how fast daddy's going." Haha...Little turds!

We'll be in the car and my son will be like "Dad....what's the speed limit?" Little turd. I know where you are going with this.

Atleast you weren't like my dad and threaten to stop the car and come back there and take care of bidness personally. I remember a time my dad stopped the car near Colorado Springs and told my oldest brother he could walk home. Scared me for a minute.

That's what happens in a car when you have 900 miles to go, it's 97 degrees out, and there is no AC in the car, at the end of a two week vacation...the first real vacation we ever had. :D

Last night he told me he's going to ask me a zillion times on the way to Florida if we are almost there. I warned him and his mother that there's a very real possibility that I might leave him at a rest area along the way. :D

SNITCHES GET????? NO MORE RIDES

My daughter clearly knows what is acceptable to talk about on a ride. Speed-NO Power wheelies-NO. Dragging a peg - NO. Triple digits - NO.

Puppies we saw-SURE. Cool bridges- SURE. Neat Geography-SURE

In actuality, very rarely does any of the hooligan behavior ever happen. Especially with a passenger.

Ding, Ding!!!

If I have a passenger, it's strict adherence to Grandma Driving Rules. They may not want to go fast, lean waaaaay over, or brake as sharply, and they may be concerned that I don't see "That guy over there who looks like he's turning in front of us!"

Takes experience by both parties to understand limits the other will accept.

My wife just closes her eyes and shouts into the comm system that I have turned off.

No problem.

I wasn't talking about motorcycling, but I guess that's neither here nor there.

Edit: Ooops, thread drift. Back to Cav's awesome Gen 3.

Us married guys laughed our freaking asses off. And then looked behind us to make sure the wife wasn't reading over our shoulder.
