Rode mine to visit Mom twice this year. She's gotten over the "motorcycles are dangerous" concept since the FJR brings me.

Hope your Dad recovers fully.

Took off the rear tire...enough tread for a few local rides...but not enough for a wheelin, squeelin, tire-spinnin NGA ride, there AND back anyways...So I wasted some tread and took it off.

Well a work issue kept me from my Colorado trip with a good friend, but did get out for 200 miles today as I was testing out
positions on my new adjustable footpegs. I like them a lot found a great position that give me just the legroom I needed
to be more comfortable on the bike.

There's the real Wheaton.

That parking job was where I came to a stop after dodging bambi. I was so happy I didnt hit it or fall over that I had to take a picture...

Felt good to be back on the bike. Right ankle doesn't like to be tucked in to the bike, but P.T. will help with that.

I think they smell your FJR coming and think of there is that big ol' softie coming again, let's go say hello. Perhaps centering crosshairs and a gentle progressive squeeze of the trigger may help provide remedy.

Yep, there's the real wheaton after I give an attaboy and get flipped off in return. :D

Seriously, glad you got out and rode. I got out and had a good 200 mile ride with griff and Duane. Awesome sight at the top of the BRP looking down on the blanket of fog down in the upstate. Great roads, unfettered by 4 wheel traffic and Hog caravans.

And seriously, thank you. We don't realize how something as simple as a 60 mile motorcycle ride can be so vitally important to our mental state.

The bike sat for almost 3 months. Abandoned and stranded in the corner of a barn. But just like a 4 legged companion, she fired right up, and purred at speed effortlessly.

I forgot how quickly she'll reach performance award velocity, boy did that feel good to be reminded.

Today it's bath time and TLC. New gps mount and harness to install, amoung other things.Image

Rode in to work in a light rain most of the way. Got to my exit about 6 miles from home and.....dry road. Apparently the rain had a pretty distinct cut off. Day 519 consecutive and the streak continues.

Left home on the bike, came home on a rollback. Flat rear tire. 2 holes that I plugged but the bead busted so the little Slime pump, even with a ratchet strap around the tire, wasn't gonna pump it up. The thing I pulled out looked like a small trailer hitch pin about 3/8" in diameter. Thanks to the AMA Roadside Assistance picking up the tab!

I took a short 50 mile ride yesterday morning.

I woke up at O-dark Thirty as usual to find a couple dozen showers forming at the coast. Took a whiz and went back to sleep, figuring that I'd pass on riding for the day. Woke back up about 7:00 and to my surprise, the radar was clear - those showers petered out before they got to me. Drank a cup of Joe and geared up for a ride.

I got 10 miles north of town and was having trouble deciding where to go. Kind of "Blah" feeling about it. Then I decided to detour East to see an old friend of mine that I've missed for a while. I turn off the highway onto the one street neighborhood, and immediately, I saw him taking his morning walk toward me way down the street. He recognized me instantly, and waived feverishly at me with both hands in the air. I stopped and offered him my hand for the customary greeting between civilized men. "Good Morning! It's good to see you, my friend!", he proclaimed to me through my ear buds and helmet.

We sat on his back patio watching the hummingbirds fight over the sugar water. We laughed from our bellies at each other profusely. We told stories and we caught up on each other, and our families. He showed me his new 2018 CB500X, which he acquired on a trade of his older Gold Wing. He's setting it up to do some touring, and it's a fine motorcycle to be sure. It was great fun, and an hour seemed like it went by in minutes.

I rode the uneventful 25 miles back home late morning.

Sometimes the littlest things are the greatest things.
