I need to install the two Sena's I have in our helmets but I am NOT activating VOX. Kid was already back there singing away to himself while we rode. If he can hook up his mp3 player via bluetooth I think he'd be in heaven.

New front tire, Michelin Pilot Power 2CT.
Also swapped front brake pads around & tightwad me finally conceded I need to order new ones. So I did, EBC HH sintered. Found a seller on Amazon that had them for a decent price, 2 pkgs (4 pr, enough to replace all the fronts) for $106 free shipping, 2 day delivery.

'Noticed one of my side cover bolts to be missing... WTF..?
I did have the cover off a while ago when I hooked up the Admore tail light harness... I can only assume I didn't tighten it enough when I put the cover back on. Highly unlikely, but... What else could it be..?
Oh well... Replacement ordered.

Don't recall getting call to inquire about my plethora of spares..... I replaced all mine with Honda ones with 5mm hex. Found out the FJR valve cover screws do the job nicely too..Hack wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 5:51 pm 'Noticed one of my side cover bolts to be missing... WTF..?

I'm a stickler for OEM side cover fasteners... Lol.
With my luck the new one will be delivered and THEN I'll find the original somewhere in the garage or lying in the driveway..

Same happened to me. A friend noticed it and had a spare C10 Connie fairing screw that fit perfectly. Still there.Hack wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 5:51 pm 'Noticed one of my side cover bolts to be missing... WTF..?

You wouldnt happen to have engine case guards do you? At eom last year i saw a few fjr bikes without the same screws. I put just a dab of blue locktight on them after i installed my engine guards.Hack wrote: ↑Fri May 24, 2019 5:51 pm 'Noticed one of my side cover bolts to be missing... WTF..?

That's the good kind of luck to have. I'd open the package and the new one would pop out and off to the dark reaches of the garage.

No guards...
I'm sure it's user error. I had the cover off when I was installing my DIY top-box lights.
I either failed to tighten or... There's a really slim chance I just didn't install the bolt... I'm going with the first one though as I can't find the bolt amongst my extremely organized collection of bits and pieces.
It's not a big deal... The cover is plenty secure without the bolt anyway...
Of course NEXT time something like this happens I'll be sure to call raYzerman and mooch a replacement from his stash... 'Might even buy him a coffee for the favour.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Yesterday I rode out to visit me mom. This morning when I walked past my FJR I discovered my GPS was still on from yesterday. I'm giving my battery a bit to recover and then I'll see if it'll start.
Edit: It started just like normal. The volt meter showed that the charging system was providing a heavy meal for the battery.

Getting ready for trip to centralia, pa and the graffiti highway, otherwise known as the destroyed section of 61. Been there but a friend wants to see... well a town of nothing. Lunch somewhere before we head back. Should be a nice day.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Washed my bike and wasted a really nice day I could have been riding. I live on a lake. After watching the yahoos display their nutz driving while intoxicated I elected to not go share the road with them.
I pulled off the seats then removed my under seat items like rain covers, and towels then I removed my flat kit and found this:
The little phucker was sitting right there trying to figure out why there was suddenly so much light. My wife says 'how cute' while I was having visions of Mouse Hunt. Fortunately the mouse did the right thing, it jumped down and ran across the street to the neighbors house
Last fall on our way down to EOM we had a flat on the Blue Ridge Parkway and when I removed the tire kit there was an even bigger mouse nest.
I'm willing to bet I know what's in my air cleaner too...
(It kinda makes me wonder what the mouse thought about my commutes to work 'cause if it was there it got to enjoy a lot of Gs on several axis.)

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Like Deja Vu all over again.
I got my bike out a few weeks back. Sure enough, found mousewares under my seat. Cleaned it out, inspected for damage, no issues (at least not like last time!)
Yesterday it was threatening to break 70f and I made an hour to get the bike out for a ride. I wheel it down the ramp out of the shed and I see mice running everywhere.
SONOFABITCHNOTAFUCKINGGAIN.
Pulled off the seat, sure enough, another nest. Did Yamaha flavour the wiring under the seat with mouse pussy or something?

Rode it all weekend. First with a dear friend, from the other side of the right pond. Then today, my wife and daughter joined me on a ride to the National Cemetery in Bushnell. I really enjoyed this weekend.
