New to the Forum

Post by wdcsjc »

Live just west of Richmond, VA, Retired since 1995 and became an octogenarian this past November. Have owned quite a few interesting bikes and have more fun riding now than when I was younger. Just bought my first 'sport' bike, a 2008 FJR with ABS, which was owned by a 70-some Iron Butt member who did 48 states plus 1 (Alaska) in a single trip. Also did 1500 miles in 24 hours, at some point. My other bike is 2003 Honda VTX 1800 R that I put around 10K miles a year on. Two children(both local PTL)and six grandchildren who are a joy. Glad to be in this forum and hope to learn and contribute as much as I have in the VTX forum.

Welcome, wdcsjc! Yes, the FJR is a sport bike with luggage. That makes overnight rides much more fun!

Welcome. I had a 2002 VTX1800C. Loved that bike.

Welcome! How west of Richmond? A few of us on here are in the surrounding area. I had to google octogenarian. Dang, a new FJR rider who’s over 80? Well done, Sir! Quite impressive.
