The back wheel was a little worse than the front.
I'm keeping my eye on eBay for new wheels but for now it's ding and dinger

I hope the tire fully seated the bead and won't leak air.

On the homeward swing of my ride. Things are going well. As of now I do not like my Road5s. Both fronts are badly scalloped, Pop has 4400 miles on his. I will be replacing mine as soon as I get home. They grip pretty well and the wet weather traction is superb but they are not PR4GTs for sure.

Well the damage was done in May and I've had no issues with pressure all summer.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
My pr5 front was so scalloped i had front end shake when braking. I was running 39psi. BkerChuck suggested 41 or 42psi, not sure what your running. Im running 42 with no sculloping. Ill check later today if i have some but im not noticing.Redfish wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 10:36 pm On the homeward swing of my ride. Things are going well. As of now I do not like my Road5s. Thats the only thing im a bit disappointed in, which is enough i guess, they seem to scallop easy. The grip is fastastic though...

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
It will be interesting to see what the Road5 GT is like when it comes out. Michelin does not specifically recommend the non-GT version for the FJR and so far there is no definitive date for the availability of the GT. (I did a search on the Michelin website for tires compatible with the FJR and Road5 did not come up as a suitable choice.)Redfish wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 10:36 pm On the homeward swing of my ride. Upstate NY is a big place, so just Google Aluminum wheel repair NY.... buncha hits, this one in Albany, e.g. mainly for car wheels, but somebody will do it. Yours is what I call minor straightening...

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I am not understanding the Road5 thing. $20 each more than the PR4, why bother when the PR4 (rear) is such a good tire? IMHO unless you are doing 2 up, no need for GT tires on the FJR, the ass end of an FJR isn't that heavy. Different story if you had an ST1300....

Rode her home from work today. Ok, I lie, I only rode the last 50 miles home from work today. Here's where she's been sitting at the airport waiting on me to come home and get her.
Wife's car is in the shop, she's driving my truck, lucky to have a motorcycle for backup.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I had one of those on a previous bike. I was at the local mall behind a security vehicle. A truck started backing out of a parking spot without looking causing security vehicle to stop. Truck kept coming so security vehicle threw it into reverse. I was backpedaling as quickly as my short little stumpy legs would go all the while hard on the FIAAM. Bam, he hit me. Wedged my front fender under the rear bumper of his truck so it stood up without me on it. We pulled it out and he was really sorry. I told him that I was honking my loud ass horn at him and he told me "Oh, I thought that was the truck honking at me to get out of the way!"rgb wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2019 12:51 pm Some time after I bought this bike I was riding down the road and for some reason I pressed the horn button. meep. What? meep. ???? meep meep meeeeep. Who the heck thought that is a horn? Lowest bidder for sure. I bought a pair of Fiamm “Freeway Blaster” horns and they have been sitting on the counter so I decided I would install them this morning before I left for work. The 2015 only has one horn and I haven't gotten around to making a harness to feed the 2nd one so, I installed the one one the left. 1 socket head screw, 1 10mm nut and a couple of wires. HONK! HONNNK! good. SWMBO opens the shop door and announces that it *is* 06:00 and no one in the house appreciated my new found happiness with my half finished horn.
Despite my saying that at least I wasn't roaring out of the neighborhood on one of my open pipe bikes, she still didn't offer to cook me her interpretation of breakfast. Oh well. Hop on the bike and stop by the diner on the way to work. Maybe they'll like my new horn?
Just when you think you have a nice upgrade to your safety....sigh.
I did have the Suzuki shop write it up for full price on a genuine brand new fender that they messed up, then when I got my check they gave me a great discount on a carbon fiber one and I got a few other goodies courtesy of the mall.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Today, this morning, I'm thinking a lot about my FJR. Specifically, I'm thinking and quite frankly, getting excited about riding her. Good times are on the close horizon. It's still hot as shit down here, but early this morning, before day break, as I grabbed the newspaper, there was just a small hint of hope. Just a very light breeze out of the north that was a smidge lower in humidity. In some sort of Pavlovian reaction, my big nose turned into the wind toward my shop. I starred through the closed roll up door intently, envisioning what was just on the other side. And it may me smile.
My daughter gets moved into her new (rent) home no later than October 1, hopefully the weekend before. Regardless, when the last picture is hung, and the tailgate on the pickup closes, I'm done. And when I say "done", I mean I'm going home and packing my shit. The next morning, as early as I can wake, I'm outta here. Several buddies are on hot standby, but we all know how that goes. Everyone has their life, I get it. But I'm not playing any games. I'm going with or without.
Work has been notified: I'll be home when I'm done. No further details at this time.

Just got home. It was 87 degrees F. Bikes did great. Road5s... gripped.
I don't know where to start and I don't know who to thank or get mad at but there was a box in my office when I got home. A big box. Mrs. Redfish and I opened it together. There is a beautiful, shiny set of Yoshimura FJR mufflers in this box.
I could not find the For Sale ad. I am tired, I am confused and I OWE somebody big time. Y'all help me out. I have the money to pay for these, I am pretty sure RaYzerman is either responsible or at least an accessory to this crime. Show some love for a tired and confused but loyal FJRiders member.
Please.
