Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
The weather passed through early this morning, and the clouds lifted. Tom, Mike, and I could not contain ourselves. Stopped in Church Point, Louisiana, where there is that dive hole in the wall that only the locals know about (and us). Those old ladies know how to fry shrimp. Good salads all around.
Then it was over the river and through the woods. A terrific 175 mile spirited ride under sunshine and 68 degrees. Roads were just a little gritty from the storm, but we managed just fine.
Great day, today.

Rode down to Atlanta to watch my granddaughter's basketball game with Georgia Tech. Great game. The Tigers came up short 49-47, but, played a great game. Was treated to this sunset when I got back home to God's country.

Woohooo!!!... yesterday I dug it out of it's hibernation, checked the air in the tires, and this morning rode it to work for the first time this year. Have not ridden since the middle of December, after a little surgery on the 19th.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I purchased the water jug holder from Garuld awhile back. The bracket is very nice, but the igloo jug is not that great for hot Florida riding. The ice seemed to melt too quick. Well, the problem took care of it's self. I didn't screw the lid back on good and it flew off. So the jug needed to be replaced.
This time I went with a half gallon Rtic jug. Looks better and should hold ice better. The bracket base is a little big for it, but the clamp holds the jub tight.
Now it looks like it was always part of the bike.
Took the bike for a couple of rides this weekend. Just short morning back roads rides.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Ray, front is a Raven 009 and the rear is a Verge 011, supposed to be their new sport touring tire. I think the front is decent enough. The rear is great when the roads are dry but with my near year round riding habits and the fact i do ride in the rain I'm just not real confident in the rear tire. It's lost traction on me more than once and as stated tar snakes really make it feel squirrelly. I've got about 6k on them and the wear is decent so I have to give credit for that. I'm anxious though to get back on my favorite PR2s though.
Rode it to work today. Got some nice rides in over the weekend, it hit almost 70 yesterday and calling for over 50 this afternoon.

Kinda what I thought... it was hard to decipher the hardness of the compounds on Shinko's site, but when anyone says high mileage, then I know you're making a trade of mileage for grip.... I think you'll like the Raven 009 rear... Angel GT (trying it) going on the VFR rear, Raven 009 up front. Ravens on the CBF1000 performing flawlessly.
Keep yer stick on the ice........... (Red Green)

Been saying this same thing since Allen let me try some take offs that he had. Nothing wrong with the Ravens. I ran the Verge a few different times as well. Only if I am planning a big 7K plus trip, I know the Shinkos will make it. I often have found myself when I was not looking, nor did that discovery take place where I thought it would!
