It's pretty simple and I'm not sure how people get caught in them in a vehicle. The road goes two ways, either toward or away from the twister. Choose wisely, even if it means going the wrong way up the shoulder.fontanaman wrote: ↑Sat Dec 28, 2019 2:01 pm If you can help me stay out of those awful tornadoes you will be a Saint.

I rode it to the store at 530am, in 60F rain, for doughnuts and espresso beans. Kids and grandkids are in for the holidays. They love doughnuts. I love espresso. Everybody wins. Streets were wet and empty. “Clubbed to Death” was playing in the Neotec. Reminded me of leaving for an IBA or TOH ride. Soon...

Rear got replaced a couple of weeks ago with a 5GT. Too many trips (Key West was a factor) and too much interstate wore the middle out. Front is a 4GT, about to be replaced with a 5GT.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Spent a couple days riding around Cali with 'Bug & Carver. Had to check out the "Last Ride of the Year" RTE in Orcutt Cali, good enough reason for a ride for me. Home tomorrow nite for a five day total of ~2400 miles. Crossed the Golden Gate Bridge today and proceeded to get wet for three or so hours. Hold up in Eureka for the night. Nice way to close out 2019!

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
After 2486.5 miles back at my shack in the hills. What a trip! Great time riding with 'Bug and Carver on those straight-boring Cali canyon roads...
Had to delay leaving Eureka until 8-ish AM as there was frozen water on the bike and cover. Brrr! North to Crescent City, temps hovered in the mid 30s and was in and out of fog banks as 101 twisted northward. I had initially wanted to make Crescent City Sunday night, but good sense stopped me. Good thing as there were two construction zones that would have made for a later arrival. Add some Elk sightings and the stop was a good decision.
While not unexpected, suffered no mechanical issues or flat tires. Had to change batteries in my wireless heat-troller but carried spares and planned for it. Only encountered one other touring rider heading southbound from Crescent City on a KTM S-A. Where was everyone?!?
As my two guardians noted, rolled in last night right around 8 PM. Ride time was about 10-1/2 hours plus stops for breakfast and dinner. The sky's opened up today so it's a good thing I made the push home.
Couple of pics to follow. Until next time...

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I had two FJR owners to deal with
Nice turnout for the RTE, I believe there were at least 3 riders who have ridden the IBR rally four times.
Carver’s back yard before we solved the world’s problems over a few beverages around the fire pit.
Good times indeed.
