What did you do to your FJR today?

Unheated garage and temperature fluctuates. Relatively humid as well. Always figured that keeping water vapor out means that you wouldn't get condensation in the pipes and subsequent corrosion. Don't know if it really an issue or not with SS exhaust. Don't think I have ever seen an FJR with a rotted muffler.

A ceiling fan in an unheated garage does wanders for helping keep everything dry. Set it on low and forget about it.

Wonder if that works in a garage where two (often wet, icy or slushy) cars are parked... Not installing a fan this year in any case but will file it for future consideration.

Yes, the fan will dry the vehicles and floor much faster than just still air, I have that exact issue, two vehicles, unheated garage.

Replaced my O2 sensor.

What was wrong with the old one and how was it diagnosed? Any improvement afterward?

As far as I know, there isn't any clear-cut means to diagnose a flaky O2 sensor although it could be at the root of a bunch of running issues. I once had a major running issue that was eventually traced to a O2 sensor wire mashed by the timing cover causing an intermittent short in the sensor. Cover was off for a CCT change and the initial thought was that we had skipped a tooth on the timing chin but all was better after fixing the wire.

I put one of the big Damp Rid buckets in my cargo trailer where I store the FJR.

Even a cheap box fan does wonders to keep air moving......... I'd just put a breathable cotton/flannel sheet over the bike and if air is moving, there won't be a condensation problem.....

Re: Corrosion and condensation prevention.
Another thing I have heard people doing is to use a floor-length cover and place a medium-low wattage (40W?) incandescent light bulb below the bike. the cover reduces the amount of humid air making its way to the bike and the bulb supplies enough heat to keep the temperature of the bike a degree or two above ambient temperature. Supposed to be enough to prevent condensation on the bike. Never tried it...

In the really humid tropics, everybody did the same thing, keeping a low-wattage (25W~35W) incandescent light bulb On at all times, in the bottom of every clothes closet. It was the only way we had to prevent mildew and other moisture-related problems with the clothing.

Yesterday I road my FJR 285 miles in search of Fall Colors

The route included all the twisty bits I could find north of Spokane in Destination Hwy's Washington.

Lodgepole Pine trees are the predominate tree around here. Deciduous trees are harder to find so searching for fall color is just an excuse to ride. Sometimes there are some great looking Spruce trees or Aspens. Many of the tree had not changed color yet so I was a bit early. There was some snow in the mountains and along the Cedonia to Addy's road today. The bonus today was a complete shock.

New asphalt on the Gifford to Addy's road. I went off route for some of that. Damn near died when I found it- it was so new stripes were absent and motorcycle caution signs still out. A dead deer was found soiling this hollowed black ribbon of righteousness. Most of the roads are chipped sealed around here or are in a state of disrepair so finding new asphalt is damn near and out of body experience. Sorry no photos of this but I was having too much fun and winter gloves make it hard to take moto photos. It was in the 30's and 40' most of the morning.

Pend Oreille River is only only river running south to north in Eastern Washington.

We use these in our basement during the rainy season. If you guys haven't tried them you should. They work really well.

Pulled the dash panels in preparation of my under mirror mounts and new lights arriving tomorrow. Installed my new T-Rex frame sliders yesterday. Progress is being made.

Rode it to work this morning. Spent hours last night getting my aux lighting installed and wired up. Need to clean up a few areas that I compromised on how I ran some wires mostly because my left wrist and hand still aren't fully healed and I just couldn't do some stuff the way I'd prefer to do it. It's good to have more lights on it again! Leaving later today for Bethlehem, PA and heading out tomorrow morning for the start of the Void Rally. Dianne's back is still giving her a lot of pain so I'm riding solo. She's driving to the finish in Fredericksburg, VA and will be volunteering as staff. I'm going to partner up with a friend from OH who is doing his first LD rally and we're going to ride as a team.

Called to check on it.

At the end of my Arkansas ride my FJR gave some high temp readings. Didn't have time to deal with it. Due to work, another bike trip and lack of mechanical talent I let a service department deal with it for me.

Basically after a coolant flush it does not over heat. Seems to be fine. They want to take it on one more test ride today.

So I should get my bike back Saturday morning!!! No major damage to the bike or wallet!

Went for a nice ride on a beautiful early fall day. Stopped for ice cream and bought a half gallon of maple syrup before heading back. A great day for a ride!

Rode to work and back. Stopped on the way home and washed my bike. It feels weird now, I will go get it dirty this weekend and things will get back to normal.

Rode it to the office. Decided that it’s time to put the handguards on and switch to the leather jacket on the mornings. Getting chilly early in the a.m. Even the afternoons have been very mild. Scheduled
to perpetrate a new PR4GT on the front this afternoon.

dem, that looks 1000% nicer than my Givi2Shad adapter plates. Good thing no one can see them though.

Be easier if I had real tools, you can do stuff with hand drills/jigsaw but it makes a mess and takes forever to get stuff lined up right!
