Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Rode a couple of back roads, roads that I had not been on or had not been thru to its end. Sunny , windy and about 50F. Today last nice day for awhile. To turn from rain to snow tomorrow and possibly record low temps for this time of year. Enjoying while I can. Saw a nice buck following a doe's trail apparently, hope he gets lucky!

Rode about a 2 1/2 hour loop over to my daughter's house which takes me across North Georgia. Looped back along highway 136. It was beautiful out, lot's of color, sunny and 64 degrees. Didn't need grip heaters today. I love living out in the sticks in this part of the south. Life is good.

Stored away for the winter. Full tank of non-ethanol fuel, warm spot in the garage...
Oh well - another riding season done.
Just installed some T-Rex sliders - and will now start shopping for tires for next season...

Washed and waxed. A few more details before going undercover. Ill gather the parts for maintenance items and tackle them in the new year getting ready for spring.

Swapped the SR357 off for the stock rack. Now that it’s stich weather, nothing but a small bag to carry, and that will fit in a side case leaving one to spare. I want to force myself to go a whole week without a topcase. Too easy to put one right back on otherwise. #spoiled #minimalist

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Rode it to work this morning. Weather forecast for today is still reasonably mild but a cold front is coming in tonight so tomorrow sounds like a truck day.
Managed almost 100 miles Sunday afternoon with sunshine and temps near 60. Got a couple of photos for a forum tag game and posted them. Stopped by the Harley dealership I used to work for and visited with some old coworkers.

Plugged in the battery maintainer, and placed the cover on it. If we get good days to ride it only takes 5 minutes to perform the pre-ride check.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Left it right where it is. High winds, rain and a temp drop of over 25 degrees in an hour means it's really really really not fun out there. 43F with 20 mph winds plus higher gusts. Yuck.

Today: Rode it to work in beautiful 60F temps under a clear blue sky.
Yesterday, I rode it through west Georgia farmlands in similar weather as part of a six-motorbike platoon: 3 H-Ds, an R1200, and two Yamahas: FZ-07 (with a hottie redhead rider) and my FJR.
Lots of fun, especially when I discovered the H-D lunch location has a Yamaha dragster bike on the wall with all the shovelheads, knuckleheads, panheads, and other-head Harleys.

Did you ride in 2nd gear the whole way? I notice you didn't get into any trouble.Uncle Hud wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 5:14 pm Today: Rode it to work in beautiful 60F temps under a clear blue sky.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Of course not! The "getting there" and "getting back" parts of the ride were on Windy Hill and Macland Roads, where the range of FJR gears must be used to avoid being run over.wheatonFJR wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 6:24 pm Did you ride in 2nd gear the whole way? FYI, the route was pretty nice. Bucolic farmland, forests, and scattered houses, with little traffic to restrain our throttles. About half the time I was in second gear, between 4K and 8K rpm, scattering yellow and maroon leaves from the pavement and encouraging the lovely Kelly: Lean just a little farther, honey!

Rode it to work this morning. A bit cool at 27 degrees but clear and dry roads. Temps should be near 40 for the ride home.

Rode it to the office. 20F. Nothing was cold except my neck. Despite gear with a heated collar, there’s still a gap between the Neotec 2 and the suit. One which will soon be remedied.

My Northface neck gaiter is worth about 5 degrees to me all by itself. A very handy addition to the riding repertoire...

Below 50F I put on the neck warmer...only works as long as it is dry or only lightly sprinkling.

Yep, that bare neck feels like needles stabbing you in the cold. Any fleece neck gaiter will bunch up nicely between the jacket and helmet and fix that issue.

Got my ECU back from Ivan's, and I will install it tomorrow. I just bought a 2013 this past Friday, after selling my 2014 6 weeks ago and knew I made a mistake
