Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I said to myself when the '17 came out wait a couple years and get a used one. Raven I like it.
Turns out they are hard to find. '15s are more plentiful.
Any a couple weeks ago I was at home in Spokane when well farkled 17 appeared on a Cycle Trader search in Austin Texas. As luck would have it I am near Austin visiting the outlaws this week. I had some free time today so I checked it out.
Cav47 says Oooohh. She is pretty. I see some nice farkles. Trunk, bag and engine protection. Highway pegs( those gotta come off as quickly as you ride, you could drag them). Bar ends, top box, bar risers, and wind shield. You bought well!
So it is a fly and buy then have it shipped home.
My inspection revealed not a scratch on it. Kinda dirty underneath. Very pretty. Lots of farkles. Engine is smoother than my 09. After market windshield may not work for me. Might want Ivan's ECU flash. I like the lighter clutch pull and expect to enjoy 6 gears.
It has 16500 miles, came with a Garmin 590, plus farkles mentioned for 12k before tax license and shipping to Spokane. Shipping estimate is $500. Anybody need a 590?
See the bike here.

im Guessing that’s a puig screen? I prefer the Yamaha touring screen or the vstream 20308 screen (but haven’t tried puig). Beautiful bike.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Rode mine to work again. Only a half shift today but the weather should be decent when I leave here at 10:30. Chatting with an acquaintance last night who just picked up his brand new Harley Davidson touring bike, he want to try and get out later this afternoon for some break in miles but didn't want to go out by himself so I'm probably going to go riding with him for an hour or two.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Put the Penske on the '17. Not sure what windshield, but you can put 1/8" washers under the windshield bracket to raise it off the fairing, more air getting under it will help with buffetting. Windshields personal choice, but I'd try that one for a while before changing it... Yamaha touring screen is decent by all reports, I use the tall V-Stream, shimmed, can send you a stone chipped/banged up one to try if you like.

Rode it to the park to run. In similar attire to what Hud used to wear in Hawaii. Did I mention it’s warmer than usual here?

Left my new to me '17 in Texas today. The plan is to pick it up in March. Shipping it to Spokane seemed a bit sketchy.

Jim - I certainly hope that you will be taking the VERY long way home in March. If a fly-n-ride is in order, then you certainly wouldn't want to bring that motorcycle home without a proper test ride. If I may, let me suggest this as a potential first leg to your test ride:

On the other hand, if you decide to trailer the new steed home, by all means leave the trailer at your buddy's house for a few days, and in that circumstance, both of you might consider this as a possibility:

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Noticed that my front tire is fucked. Not shredded like some peoples. But there are places that used to have grooves that are smooth and oddly shaped now. Resisted the urge to schedule one at the shop and made an appointment with Doctor Speed to show me how to put a new one on next week.
