We stopped for lunch where she picked out dish for us she ultimately did not like. The route was wife friendly withots of scenic views of Lake Coeur d'Alene.

Rode mine to work. My coworker Bill managed to survive his first FJR ride since last year riding his bike in to work this morning. Oddly enough his first complaint is with just how loud that complete Holeshot exhaust is since he hasn't ridden it for a long time. I'm just glad he made it in safely.

Considering riding it to California next week, because the temperature in the Idaho mountains is much below average and is impacting my plans to go dual sporting in the Idaho mountains. So the next best thing is leave for California on Friday provided I am not needed at home. (I have contractors coming on Wednesday to start repairs on a front porch with badly cracked concrete and this might impact my plans.)

I tell ya it is great being retired.

Rode to work three times today. Had to go twice this morning because I didn't have the proxy cards to get in the doors (imagine that). Then I had to come back after going home for lunch. They figured I wouldn't come back but ....

Looked at it under cover. Fogged in and light rain at Little Switzerland. The remaing BRP may need to wait. Getting down from the mount may be tricky today. Hopefully clears in a few hours.

Yep, good weather. The visibility doubled over the last hour so time to uncover and load up. I'll pickup rt40 and take in the MV.

Back track a little to 226 south to 70 west to 80NB to 19E WB to 197 SB to something SB to get you back to the BRP as it should be clear by then.

I did 226 south, which is under construction near little swiss, and picked up 40 to MV. Was unsure if the BRP would be clear up at altitude. No harm. I have a beer in front of me at MV Inn so all is well.

Turns out fron another fellow, it cleared on top of the BRP around 11.

Do not confuse Eurostar with the Eurotunnel train (Le Shuttle), the former is a relatively conventional train carrying people between several major European cities, the Eototunnel train carries vehicles, including some commercial vehicles, and cars. Shuttles between Folkestone in England and Calais in France. There are no passenger seating areas, you stay sat in your car (or stand by your bike).

I actually had two whole days off with not much planned...so I was able to ride a little! Yesterday I took the YZF out for some exercise; it hadn't run in exactly one month, and it was a bit difficult to keep running with the choke off. It stumbled and died a couple of times getting out of the neighborhood...once warmed up a bit more, I gave it the good ol' Italian tune-up. When I parked it in the afternoon after putting 337 miles on it, the engine was running beautifully as usual. It's sad how fast the modern fuel starts to degrade and turn to varnish, plugging carb jets in the process.

Today I took the FJR out for the first run since late May. Even after sitting for 3.5 months, it fired right up when I thumbed the starter and settled into a smooth idle. Yay for fuel injection! I burned an entire tank while covering 261 miles. Now it has a full tank of fresh fuel and a little stabilizer added. The rear brake pedal feels way too soft/spongy; it feels like some air might have worked its way into the system. I'll have to bleed the rear system next week to get the air out and firm up the pedal.

Luckily it's starting to cool off a bit in the desert and I hope to get a lot more riding done between now and next June.
