Installed new model V-Strom hand guards on the 15. 20 minute job, all parts included except 3 small washers to spacer the throttle side bar end out. Look like they came from the factory. Ready for cool weather rides!

I was going to say something snarky but quickly realized I haven't washed mine since then either. Maybe today after I get through riding. (probably not)

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Nice...
I have a brand new set of the older style DL1000 knuckle guards in a box... I have just not got around to putting them on the FJR...
With the set you have, was there any modification of the guard(s) required where they clip onto the bar ends..?
Also... The part number you quoted... It included everything?
I recall when I ordered my set a while ago I had to order replacement lever pivot pins/bolts...

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
Had lever pins and everything. I did enlarge the hole where they fit on the bar end. Just had to lightly hit them with a sanding drum on a dremel. Be careful, don't have to remove much. I added 3 small washers that fit in the bar end to increase the space on the throttle side. None on the clutch side.

Re: What did you do to your FJR today?
I was riding it today and thought, not for the first time lately, that the yoshimura R77 exhaust really sounds good. Not loud, but a little louder than I remembered it being new. Quieter than with the baffles out, but full... Louder than it was brand new.
Then I got home. Looked at the back of the bike. Holy shit! The right baffle was gone. I imagined it firing out the back of the bike on the road somewhere.
Further inspection would reveal that the retaining screw and the anodized “collar” had separated themselves from the baffle proper, and the pipe portion of the baffle was deep inside the muffler. Judicious use of a coat hanger rescued the remains of the baffle. I removed the left side to restore balance, and emailed the good folks at yoshimurasan research and development requesting warranty replacement. Bike sounds and runs happyfuntime.

Well, not today, but Thursday, I am having the skeleton mod installed so as to make the FJR useable again.
