I retrieved mine from the office parking garage yesterday. Figured out upper 40’s, heavy rain, and open pit vents aren’t a good combination. Changed the batteries in my heat troller today. Ready for the cold. Or at least my gear is ready.

$408 one way with the sleaper, cheaper if riding coach. No not cheap, but is nice saving the 16 hour drive or ride and be fresh and ready for the ride ahead. Planning to use again at some point when i ride to key west. Ill ride it home from there via 301/601 like i did returning from my orlando conf. Nice interesting roads.

Ok, so I have to ask, is the auto train rated higher or lower than using a trailer for your FJR on the P scale? :)

Got the bike off the train in Sanford,FL then rode to Ocala to visit the Don Garlits Drag Racing Museum then on to Daytona Beach for the night.

Auto train one way, sleeper car for Dianne and me ran $600 but that included dinner and breakfast for both of us. Had to be in Lorton, VA by 2:00 train rolled at 4:00 and hit Sanford, FL at 9:00 and bike was offloaded around 10:30. Top bunk, where I slept, was a little cramped but livable. We grabbed a couple of bottles of wine and some snacks for the ride down. Watched a movie on my tablet and got some sleep. Arrived fairly rested and ready to ride. I would definitely do it again. I think I could have saved a little if I'd booked it earlier.

When I started booking a few years back there seemed to be no rhyme or reason to the pricing. Every time I put in a different date the price would change. The great thing was there seemed to be specials at times. I finally booked and there was a discount on the roomettes. We got one of them for about the same price as coach.

Of course this was a few years ago. I think we paid around $800 total for both ways.

At that time it included a wine and cheese social, dinner and breakfast.

I've been on the bike once since EOM. Next ride will likely be to stuff it in the shed for the winter.

We had 13 feet of snow last year. Man, I'm SO done with dealing with that white shit. I hired a snow blowing company this year, better than a plow because they can throw the snow far away (Like into your asshole neighbours driveway) instead of eventually having nowhere to put it.

My entire driveway, snow blowed whenever we get more than 2" in a snowfall. If they blow before the plows have finished your road, they come back to remove the drift. I know several ppl that have used the service and they will never go back to shoveling or snow blowing yourself ever again.

If it works out, I'll sell the snow blower and use the proceeds to pay for the service for the next couple of years. No frozen heart attack death for this guy.

Interesting Bungie, what's the cost on that particular service? Do they charge more to put it in the a-hole's driveway?

That is part of the reason for living in the desert...no matter how hot it gets you never have to shovel the sun.

Ah if I lived someplace where there was 13' of snowfall each year, I think I change my scene, or hire the work done. In Spokane we get about 45" per year so the do it myself option is not taxing.

Dinner, passenger chooses time, and breakfast still are included. No wine social, although during my ride down this year i had supper with an older couple since i was alone. They ride it every year and had a bag with them containing 3 bottles of wine. We had after dinner drinks in the lounge car. BYOD for me next AT trip...
