Day 174 since the bike was put into storage for the winter. Still in storage, might as well call it 6m.

Drilled and tapped the dash shelf then mounted the GPS mount, fabricated and mounted the TPMS display onto the side of the GPS mount. Tomorrow start to run the wires for the horns, the LED lights, the GPS and the Eastern Beaver PC-8 fuse box.

Did my weekly "bike checks":

1. Tire pressures

2. Fluid levels (coolant, oil primarily)

3. Check rear tire for any punctures

4. Wipe the forks down with WD40 and a microfiber cloth

5. Apply 303 protectant to flat black plastics

6. Apply Macguiers wash and wax waterless cleaner to all painted surfaces.

I do this for the FJR and the Majesty each week to ensure they are ready for the coming week's use. I am doing 600 miles per week commuting and my wife and daughter use the maxiscoot to run errands all over the place.

I also went to the local dealer here in town that price matches tires online and ordered some Continental Road Attack 3's for the FJR. The OEM BT23's have about 7K miles on them now and might make it to 10K before they are done but I wanted to take advantage of the rebate they (Continental) have going right now. At my pace, I have about 5 weeks until I hit 10K miles.

On my prior ST1300, I ran the Pirelli Angel GT'S and the Bridgestone BT31's but I have been interested in the reports on the Continentals for mileage and lack of cupping, etc.

Took it to get bagels this morning, then ran some errands this afternoon, and dropped my favorite gloves off at the cobbler shop for some repair.

Yesterday, but went for ride in 78 degree weather here in PA. The best part was the two other friends that joined. We rode sport bikes together all over the place for years but life got in the way. Yesterday was the start of some riding together again. A great day.

No experience with the RA3's. But I did run a set of RA2's.

New they were fantastic (Had them installed in NC and was out playing at a normal pace within an hour). Good turn, good road feel. But all the fun ended after about 2000 miles. Despite my diligence about tire pressures they cupped badly, wore weirdly. Not as bad as the first set of Roadsmarts that came out, but enough that I won't be buying them again.

I"d be interested to here your review when it's replacement time.

That's not the case with the RA3's Steve...on my 3rd set, with set #4 waiting in the basement.

How's this?...I like them, and they work for me. First set removed at around 8k miles with 3 plugs in the rear tire, wich was not holding air so well. Second set was removed with about the same miles, for the ride to Spearfish last year...hoping to find out how many miles I can actually get out of the current 3rd set.
