Ivan did a nice job with the flash, you'll like the "third" mode too.

Enjoy!

Put the big case on. Caved to silent peer pressure and ordered the T-Rex Racing engine guards I’ve wanted for a while.

Rode it to work again, 28 degrees this morning but expected to be close to 50 by end of shift today. Should be a nice ride home.

I give up!!
Sometimes winter arrives in fits and starts with a cold day and even some snow followed by a week or two of acceptable riding weather - perhaps with heated gear. This year, winter arrived early and has been unrelenting. The early snow has not melted and the roads are well and truly salted with no joy in the long-term forecast. (Need a heavy rain to wash the roads followed by some dry before I would consider taking it out again.)

I topped the tank off with premium fuel (no ethanol in premium around here). This weekend, I will put it into a cleared corner of the garage, top up the battery (and disconnect it) and throw a cover over it until spring. The oil only has a thousand miles or so on it so I am not going to change it. Barring a miraculous shift in the weather, the bike will remain unmolested until (likely) late March. Battery might get a top-off charge in mid-winter.

Sad day!

Other than buying a new helmet and a couple of pairs of gloves, the FJR is dormant an will remain so until mid-april. The Vincent on the other hand is getting new valve springs, intake valve guide seals, oil lines and maybe pistons, rings and cylinder liners. All of the work is being done by a friendly specialist near Vancouver B.C. I was experiencing valve float at 85mph..unacceptable.

Checked tire pressure. Made sure the MP3 player is charged. All systems go. 37 deg. F at daybreak, high is 63, and forecast is "SEVERE CLEAR".

Tomorrow, I ride.....

You know, if you pick them up at their Dallas location you don't have to pay shipping. You could pop out, pick them up at luchtime and be back home in time to install the the following morning. Seen ya do it. I'm not saying you'd save money in this endeavor, but you wouldn't have to pay for shipping. :)

Shipping was free. But I missed out on good jerky and great company doing it this way. :)

Not me, but Griff wired up heated gear for rider and passenger to fuse block that 1911 installed. He also wired up power for the GPS that was last used on March 24th. He is also to wire upa voltmeter. I have some very good friends.

I glanced over at her every few moments while I changed the drivers door, door lock actuator/latch assembly thingy on my F150....
Of course I'm doing this in the driveaway on a windy -7 deg. C day...

Why don't these parts shit the bed in the summer..?

*To make the story sadder... I had to pay full on dealership parts counter price for the part... 'Could not find one at any wrecker within a reasonable distance and I'm afraid of the Chinese knock-offs available online.
But damn... 'Feels good to be able to lock my truck again :)

Yesterday, Southerncruiser and I rode almost 400 miles through the woods of central Louisiana under boundless sunshine. I winged it most of the day, but we hit some of my favorite roads in the area. Surprisingly good Mexican for lunch. We rode well and nearly nobody saw it - it was fantastic!

Yesterday was a GREAT day....

Dug it out of hibernation, and went and filled the gas tank. Looks like the car will sit outside, as I'll be riding to work.

With temps in the upper 60's here today it was just too nice not to go for a romp around the block. My son and I stayed out for a while today.

Nice, by the time the temps were up that high, I was already working. Sigh. I won't see temps like that for at least a week.
