^^^^ This. No, THIS!!!!! I say read and know THIS, my friends.

I'm not waiting until "45 years" for this to happen. Not gonna take a chance. I'm going to quit soon. When my fat ass is too old to get out of bed, THEN I will have many memories to carry me on.

not to be anal but your gremlin bell should be on the lowest point of the bike.

"It should be attached to the lowest part of the frame. Because gremlins lurk on the roadways and “grab” onto bikes as they pass by, the low-hanging bell should be the first thing they contact, so that they are immediately captured by it. It should be attached securely – safety wire is sometimes used, but that can create rust and scratches, so a zip-tie is generally the preferred method."

I am superstitious about having no bells on my bike.

Renewed the registration. Not exciting enough for you? Well, it had slipped my mind and was 7 months late. Oops.

Happened to me last year, similar lapse of time..... I had a wee 'incident' where the bike went down on a diesel fuel spill and a nice lady cop (a rider) came... after it was all wrapped up, she walked over (the licence check had just got radioed back) as I was ready to mount up and leave... hey, Ray, your sticker expired way back in March.... I couldn't believe I'd ridden all year like that... she said, "Get out of here". I never did renew it, waited until next one was due.

Yea, I bought the new bike in January, and the FJR expired in February. Kinda forgot about it. Plus the weather was really crappy in February. End of August I had to renew the truck and did a quick glance around the garage and crapped my pants when I saw the FJR. Then last week a guy on TWTex got hit with a $350 ticket for expired plates. I lucked out though. There was supposed to be a late fee and it was supposed to renew with February as the expiration date. Guess the girl at the tax office was having a good day because it was a normal fee and expires this time next year.

This weekend, I installed the Pilot Power on the front, PR2 on the back, changed the engine erl, the rear erl, lubed the splines, and cleaned the road grime from the exhaust and swing arm. If I had worked a little harder, I could have cleaned the whole bike, so it would be ready for that wax job under the Porte Cochere at EOM central on Friday.

New tires, oil and filter change, and a new bolt for holding my rear brake pedal on. I took it off to clean and lube and my HeMan strength snapped the bolt when I put it back together. So my dumbass had to drill the fucker out of there.

Started disassembly work and prepping the panel scratches for paint. Holy smokes that fairing stay is going to be a real biotch to replace.

Rode it to work. Got about half way there and realized that I have a Quality Audit with a customer and I need to take him to lunch. I'm betting he didn't bring a helmet.

Florence is here today, but I got the FJR out for a warm 282 mile loop yesterday which took me down into the flat, straight and boring roads in SE Ohio.

ETA: I tested a couple of things before EOM as well. I've ditched XM and have loaded a bunch of music onto a SD card and tested using the Zumo as a MP3 player (worked great), and testing using my phone with SWConnect with Spotwalla instead of paying for SPOT's service (also worked great). And the battery in my Sena headset is pretty much toast, but I have a replacement that I may or may not have time to change before we leave.

Rode it to work again like every day. Glanced at my countdown app on my phone and see that I only have 36 more of those riding days until I retire after 30 years at the company. :) I'm retiring early because I can afford it and decided I'm going to enjoy life because there's no guarantees how long I'll live. SWMBO retired last year and it's no fun heading out the door at 4:15am while she's still in bed. :(

Rode it to work. Apparently we have a big wig in town and we are expected to be in the office all week. It's gonna kill me, but at least riding back and forth helps somewhat.
