Instead of getting sucked into Black Friday shopping I spent most of the day riding.😊

Hey John - you and I fish in the same hole. Well, actually I fished in a different hole. I strapped my pole to my FJR and ran down to the coast for a little fishing. 225 miles later, I'm back at the house with a cold brew. Nice day - I took a few pictures. Might throw a ride report together this weekend.

Ya, about a far south you can get in Canada while still being in a largish City. It's almost level with northern California!

Well, today I was to ride with griff, but he texted early and said he had a bug...I think mebbe he had buckeye indigestion...but I'm not a doctor and don't know these things.

So I wake up all lazy-like, and about 10:30 decide to take a short ride then come back for some leftover fixins. So, I head over to the local gas station on this sunny day, blue skies and mid 50s at about 11:15, fill up the tank and head out on one of my favorite rural, sweeping roads. I'm taking it slow as it seems forever since I rode...just enjoying the sights and relaxing with the sound of that purring Yamaha motor.
As I ride along, just thinking of how thankful I am to have griff spend parts of his retirement helping me with the valve check and shim replacement. Although I've been present for three of these, I am convinced that I would have broken something and given up part way through if I did it alone. Thanks griff! Get better ol bud.

So I am passing bicyclists along old Saluda Rd as it winds past the reservoir, which is full and recovered from last year's drought...good to see. As I amble through Saluda, I head southeast on 176 through some fine twisty curves. Road conditions are good with a few leaves here and there...pavement is dry and smooth and I quickly roll on the throttle to pass a couple of cars before the twisty section. Riding the twisty section conservatively but still enjoying the road as it heads towards Tryon. I reverse on the flats and head back uphill, enjoying this lightly traveled road at noontime on a Sunday. At Saluda it is 52 degrees at 2100 feet in elevation...as I head back towards home, the temperatures rise to mid-60s in upstate SC. I take a new road on the way home. It's nice when you can get familiar to an area...as I got near home I realized that I did not look once at the gps. It does seem like home now.

It is amazing how a short 75 mile ride will change your mood and make you feel young again, instead of an old codger with aches and pains feeling life is about done. Riding is good therapy according to a young man I used to ride with named petey. Thanks petey. It was a good ride.

Walked in the shed, moved the snow blower away from the fjr, realized I've got a pile of shit stacked in the way of the zip ties I was looking for. Gazed at the bike for a minute.. then hopped on the truck to go buy some more zip ties. Sometimes easy trump's cheap.

It's likely gonna be April before it runs again.

Walked back and forth in front of it after unloading the car from a family holiday weekend on the road. Then I loaded up my GPS with the location of my buddy's new house and swapped mounts on the bike to accommodate the GPS for my ride in the morning over there. I'm on vacation most of the rest of the week, but with my parents coming into town I gotta get a little riding in first.

Washed all the bugs off real good and then went to start it and realized I had left the tank bag plugged in, and the lights on the multiple chargers inside the bag drained the battery completely. Battery tender on since this afternoon . Just checked it and it started right up. Tomorrow I ride.

I walked past mine a couple times as I loaded my KTM onto the truck. Then my friend and I rode the shit out if the Cedro Peak area and had a blast. The weather here is stupid warm. It was a beautiful day to ride any motorcycle.

Saturday I headed out to take pics for the other sandbox tag game. Sunday for my birthday I went to Oley, PA for the Turkey Pro Nationals. It's a slow ride competition held the Sunday after Thanksgiving for more years than I can remember. Lots of cool old stuff always gets brought out for this. Should have taken pics of the Vincent that was there or perhaps the 1963 Bridgestone. Maybe the Motus or one of the many Moto Guzzis. Today the usual, ride to work again. Day 253 consecutive and still hoping for a mild winter.
